Reality shows seem to be bringing out the worst in humanity. One notable exception is "Duck Dynasty." This show chronicles a family business in which people are not always trying to screw the next guy to get ahead but working together to accomplish a goal. Think about what else is out there: "Parking Wars," "Storage Wars," even "Big Brother" and "Survivor" hope the participants will come up with some way to stick it to the competition. Not one of these shows could be produced without oversized egos watching and clawing at the studio doors to partake.
Maybe it is true television is a mere reflection of society. I don't feel that way, however. I think people see people behaving badly, making sex tapes, cheating on spouses, destroying relationships built on trust and figure that is the way to get ahead.
More shows like "Duck Dynasty" should be developed. They are good honest people who have found happiness through hard work and not had to beat up the neighbors or lose their personal integrity.
